Managing Partner Vasquez & Co. LLP Gilbert R. Vasquez is the Managing Partner of Vasquez & Co., directing the practice since the company's founding in 1969. He has over thirty years of experience in public accounting, auditing, management and financial consulting. Mr. Vasquez was a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee in the Central District of California handling in excess of 3,000 bankruptcy cases annually. Mr. Vasquez has served as a Chapter 11 Trustee, a Bankruptcy Examiner and a Receiver. Mr. Vasquez is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. During 1980, he served as President of the California State Board of Accountancy. He was the founder, a past president and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Vasquez is a member of various Boards of Directors including Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles Metropolitan YMCA, American Power Products, Tomas Rivera Center and National Council of La Raza. Mr. Vasquez was a member of the 1984 Olympic Organizing Committee and serves on the Board of Directors of its successor organization, the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles. Past corporate board associations include GTE of California, Glendale Federal Savings and Loan Association, and Blue Cross of California. Mr. Vasquez has received many honors including: the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund Achievement Award; the Coca Cola Golden Hammer Award; the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles' Martin Luther King Human Dignity Award; the Citizen of the Year by the Northeast Chapter of the American Red Cross; recognition as one of the 40 outstanding luminaries from California State University at Los Angeles for his exemplary service to the University; and the Golden Book of Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor the YMCA bestows. Mr. Vasquez received his Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration, in Accounting from California State University, Los Angeles. He is also a credentialed Professor of Accounting.
